HH Park Brahman Stud was established in 1988 by Don & Julie Hurrell. The stud was initially based in Ingham but subsequently moved to a property 20 kilometres from Gympie with 90 - 100 breeders, replacement heifers, sale bulls and sale heifers.
HH Brahman Stud's vision has been to produce functional, early maturing cattle with emphasis on - structure, soundness, fertility, udders, temperament and ability to do well under harsh conditions. The stud has always attempted to retain size in its breeders, but they must be functional cattle. Don spent years on cattle properties throughout Western Queensland including; Charters Towers, the Gulf, Collinsville, Ingham and outside Townsville. He has a great understanding of what property owners require.
The stud has done limited showing, however at World Congress 2000 in Rockhampton HH Park Brahmans led in first place for bull under 12 months.
One of the true successes was the sire Lanes Creek Navason Manso which the stud used for many years. He produced exceptional females which are also being used in AI and flushing programs. He was a very large quiet bull with a great top line and was very tidy underneath. He was second top priced bull in his year at Charters Towers sale.
In 2007 the purchase of Kenrol Dreamer 0159 was another important milestone. This bull by Mr International 50/1 out of Kenrol Kayla 02 is producing outstanding calves. He is a moderately framed bull and very tidy underneath and on top. He also has a great temperament which he passes on to his progeny.
In 2007 going forward HH Park has embarked on an ambitious AI and flushing program. They are flushing a number of high grade cows both in Australia and USA
Young bulls by- Lanes Creek Navason Manso, WR Mr Sid 305 (IMP) and Dream Boy 165 (IMP) are available.
